I've already sang the praises of recently overdue veterans, Christopher Nolan and Paul Thomas Anderson, by creating their respective top five lists. As I'm writing this, we're on the eve of the upcoming Fall festival season, where we'll be seeing upcoming award contenders rise and fall. But as we've seen every year, not all the narratives we build up or predict to happen will occur. Anyone remember when certain pundits thought Wicked: For Good would be the next Return of the
